Loki

At times like this, words fail me. Loki was an amazing dog, and the best friend and companion that I could ever ask for. She was sweet, playful, and a great snuggle buddy. We both enjoyed our daily walks through the neighborhood-- Loki looking for cats while I enjoyed looking at the houses and gardens. She loved going to visit Grandma's house on the lake. We'd always hear a splash within minutes of arriving and laugh knowing that she was already swimming. Loki also loved road trips. It didn't matter where we were going-- to the beach, hiking in the woods, geocaching, Mingus Park-- she was always up for an adventure!
We spent a little over 10 years together, but looking back now it feels too short. It's greedy, but I wish we had more time.
After she passed away, a friend told me that Loki was lucky to have me. I had to correct her, I was the lucky one. I was privileged to be Loki's human Mom, and I'll miss her forever.
