Jenny

A donation was made in memory of Jenny by Doctors and Staff of the Haigh Veterinary Hospital on May 23, 2011.

Our Rottweiler Jenny recently passed on, she was ten years old.
I got her for Christmas when she was 10 weeks old. She grew up with our kids as they grew up, they all played outside together in the summer and after school .She waited with me everyday for their bus. We said she logged, because she would pull whole bushes out of the ground and she would drag rocks around the yard backwards with her front feet, she loved to fetch and swim and would actually dive head first in the water for what ever she was fetching. She would spend long periods of time (fishing) she would stand in water up to her chest looking down into the water and stick her head in there trying to catch them.
When it snowed she bit at it and would throw it up in the air with her nose and run around crazy happy, then come lay by the fire place.
She howled and bayed like a wolf at night when the coyotes would come around. She was a stubborn, loyal and fierce protector. She was my daily companion that I could always count on, I could tell what she was thinking and she could tell what I was thinking. Our friend.
It was hard for us to see such a vital life getting old and stiff, there's only so much that can be done. She lost her battle on April 10, 2011 in our bedroom with me,I held her and told her it was OK. Now she's resting in our Dogwood Cemetery.
We still have a pack but she left a huge hole in it and as the matriarch is sorely missed by everyone.
And thank you Haigh Vet Hosp for years of great care!
