I had no warning, no indication I would have to make a heart wrenching, painful decision that day. His blockage came on suddenly and was a dire situation fast. Chance was my gelding with a mare's attitude. He taught me so much and I am very grateful for our time together all though too short. Some horses are just easy to be with, Chance made you earn his love and respect as he should and once earned, gave back a thousand times more. He was silly, sassy and loving. Because he didnt freely give out that affection, when he showed it to you it felt so special. His grace and self carriage was beautiful to see, even at the end he went down gracefully and was careful to not hurt the people around him. Run free with the fairies that always chose you with their stirrups made of fairy knots. I love you and miss you so so much. I honor you and the great teacher you were - I am a better horse partner because of you. Gratitude my friend, until we meet again.
