Phil ❤️ the first time I met you, you ripped my shirt and stood there eye to eye with me. Taunting me to do something about your cheeky behavior and I had to have you. I fell in love with your fire and I knew you were meant to be mine. We adventured, learned, loved, lost, overcame, matured, and transformed over the years. There are so many secret, special moments and conversations that you hold safe for me and so many I hold for you. For more than half my life, you’ve been my keeper but you’ve also taught me how to create my own tribe and how to begin to rely on them. You’ve taught me that I am enough even when I feel broken. I’ve always been enough and I always will be. You’ve taught me countless life lessons and loved me unconditionally throughout all of my ups and downs. You taught me that death doesn’t have to be scary and depressing, it can actually be a beautiful gift. Phil was his normal spicy self this morning, we spoiled him with grain, treats, a turn out, and a soft groom. As I was walking him up to our chosen location, he gave one more spook, buck, rear just to show me he was still a total badass. He marched up to our vet and stood calmly as the process began. He didn’t fight the medications, he went quickly and with ease which I know a lot of people wished, hoped, and prayed for so thank you 🤍 Phil passed away smiling. He passed with dignity and was the bravest horse throughout the whole thing. What an honor it was to love him and what an honor it was to let him go. My main man, forever and always, I love you Philber Eugene❤️
