Oliver
Oliver came to us as a one-day old kitten, abandoned with four siblings, and found in a garbage bag. Our foster mom-cat (nursing her own four kittens) took them in, but only Oliver survived. We formally adopted Oliver, who was such a special guy right from the start.
Oliver looked just like a Norwegian Forest cat, with an amazingly gorgeous ruff and long fluffy tail. He was very social and always hung out with us, straddling a railing like a jaguar in a tree, or sitting on the table next to the computer, or his favorite - riding on someone's shoulder, wrapped around like a furry scarf. He loved to try out cozy places, like any new box, bowl, even the empty soup pot on the stove once. Getting brushed made him so happy, and when the dogs were getting brushed he would get in line to be next. He had a loud purr that told us how happy he was.
He was a beautiful cat with a big personality, and we miss him so much. We were lucky to have had him for 16 years, 'from day one'.
