Buoy

A donation was made in memory of Buoy by Tina Devoll on Feb 07, 2012.

One summer our Humane Society had put out an eutanasia alert. I found this beautiful and happy 19 month old black Akita/Belgium Shepard mix. It was love at first sight. The only condition was that he had to get along with our other dog Nala who was a Border Collie/Chow mix. At introduction, Nala was not interested in him which I knew it would work out because they didn't fight. I named him Emperor, but we called him Buoy from the beginning. He spent his life forever grateful. He followed Nala everywhere. He was very obedient and followed commands even when his whine gave it away that he really didn't want to go lay down or sit. Buoy was a singer. He could sing his name and would mimic any tune you would make. Buoy loved life. Several years later, as Nala got older, we were concerned about what would happen to Buoy if Nala passed. We introduced Molly, a puppy, to our family May 2010. Nala passed June 2010. Buoy was depressed following Nala's passing. Although Buoy would play with Molly he did get tired of Molly's excitement about everything she encountered. January 30, 2012 Buoy was diagnosed with Lymphoma. January 31st, we started his treatent with an Oncologist. Our good Buoy passed away on February 6th surrounded by his family. He fought bravely, but Nala came to bring him home to Heaven with her. Buoy loved walks, fresh cut grass, singing, belly rubs, treats, and sleeping in the bedroom. He was loved and will be greatly missed!
