Sadie

A donation was made in memory of Sadie by Drs. Stidham, Meyer, Goebel, Bouchey, Lommers and Grant at Vista Veterinary Hospital on Mar 30, 2026.

There aren’t enough words to describe our sweet Sadie. She was so loving, sweet, and funny—with just the right amount of salt and sass. She was the dog we didn’t know we needed. We got her from a friend who found her roaming the streets. We weren’t looking for another dog and had never had a little dog before, but we took her in. She immediately began ruling the roost and quickly won over the hearts of everyone she met. Sadie developed Cushing’s Disease and was being treated for it. Then one day in 2024, she suddenly became very sick and couldn’t walk. We took her to the ER, and she was in full Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). We had no idea she was diabetic. She survived the DKA, and our journey managing her diabetes began. She went blind due to cataracts but was blessed to have cataract removal surgery—which was amazing! She could see again!! She loved chasing squirrels in the backyard, playing with her “manimals” and going for walks.

She gave us 12 1/2 wonderful years until her liver enzymes spiked unexpectedly. She went downhill so fast, there was nothing we could do. Our lives are not, and will never be, the same without her. She filled a void in our hearts that we didn’t even know existed. The silence in our house now is deafening, and we miss our precious little Butter Bean, Sadie Bug, Muffin, Lovey, more than words can express.
