We received Nikki from the Oregon Humane Society in Sept 2000, she was part Rotewiller and part who knows what else. She was approx 1 and 1/2 years old when we got her. She was already housetrained to go outside and would nose you real hard when she wanted to go outside. She was quite the speedster in her youth and could outrun most of the other dogs she was around. She would lay on our bed at night and also beside us on the couch. She was an excellent companion to both my wife and myself. Nikki was put down on Dec 19, 2011 as her arthritis continued to get real bad even as she was on pain medication for approximately two years. We miss Nikki and I could not get the words out to tell her how much I loved her when we had to let her go. Nikki will always be remembered as a kind and loving dog.
