At about 10pm on June 28th 2010, our little Gigio went home to be with Jesus. We will miss him greatly, but know that we will see him again one day soon.
We received Gigio from my brother in October of 2004, who was moving and couldn't keep him any longer. He adopted him from a local animal shelter where he volunteered. Gigio was already about 7 years old when we adopted him, and our Husky mix, Niki was now 16 years old and we knew she probably wouldn't last much longer.
Gigio was a wonderful little dog, who loved to play and be with us. He was with us just about all the time since we're retired. He loved to go for rides in the car, and was a close friend to our older male cat Sherman. Gigio lived a long life, free of any major health problems. Our vet, Dr. Dennis Riggs, said that he died of natural causes and didn't suffer. For this we are truly grateful.
If it's any comfort to those who have also lost a pet, there are many who believe that our pets return to their maker when they die. Even though they don't have a spirit like humans, they do have a soul, and like humans, it is the soul that lives on after death. There is much Biblical evidence to support this, and there are also many other qualified individuals who believe this.
We miss you Gigio and look forward to seeing you on the other side! Job 12:10
