Sun-Paws Oskar Garcia Pfeiffer

If you ever met Oskar you would know, what was such a special kitty he was, touching every heart he met. What I most often heard about Oskar was, “I was never a cat person until I met Oskar”. My sister called him the Cat-Dog. He had an unusually loving way about him, just like his two bulldogs, Chopper & Minnie he also had to greet everyone who came to the door and wouldn’t be satisfied until you said hello back. When our sons were little it wouldn’t be surprising to find Oskar lying in the middle of a 3 year old birthday party, purring away. This past year he even made it into my sons senior yearbook picture, even though no “props” were allowed he convinced the editor that Oskar had been with him his entire life and it would mean the world to him and me that he have Oskar with him in the picture. He loved being carried around, either like a baby belly up in your arms or slung over your shoulder while you went about your day. He even went to work with me and the dogs occasionally. But most of all his favorite activity was road trips, no matter where or how long. Seattle to LA, camping in Mazama, Whistler BC, Lopez Island or the beaches of La Push, he was just happy to be with his family. These last few years as he began to show his age and battle kidney failure he had such wonderful love & care from the staff at NW Veterinary Hospital, they were always there for us both, I will always be grateful. We were lucky to have Oskar with us for 20 years but that will never be enough. He was a once in a life time friend, companion and family member.
