Paige

A donation was made in memory of Paige by Susan Roberts on Feb 02, 2010.

Paige took me on adventures I had never dreamed of. We traveled and met the finest people who are now comforting my husband and me.

Paige achieved awards beyond my imagination.

Paige's beauty and her skill in agility took us to her breed nationals two times. In OHIO she won 1st Place Most Versatile, in Washington she won 3rd place MOST Versatile for her performances in herding, rally obedience, agility and conformation.

Paige earned her NATCH and Versatility NATCH (NADAC agility Championship titles) because she LOVED to train and she LOVED to compete. Paige also earned Elite titles in ASCA's agility program.

No matter what the circumstances, she was always passionate about training and competing. She could switch gears in less a second. Paige loved LOVE...from anyone. One second she could be calmly enjoying pettings from a friend or stranger and the next second enter the agility ring and perform and qualify with fierce intensity.

Paige was smart. She could meet a new line-up of people and then when asked in any order "Where's Suzie?" (for example) correctly identify each person by name by going up and pointing her nose toward the correct one.

Paige was funny. She ALMOST convinced a friend who was "doggy sitting" that she did not sleep in a crate (like her sisters), but instead slept on the bed. She flew onto the bed and dove under the huge pillows, snuggled in all cozy and peeking out as though to say "I really do sleep here….Really I do."

Paige just loved her people. She was born in our home and was there to stay. She loved my husband and "glommed" onto him. She was thrilled to be with our grandchildren and adored attention from them, friends, and all the rest of the family. She rewarded them all with big "smiles."

Paige was very handy around the house. She would close the kitchen cupboards on command to help me clean up.

Paige loved obedience drills. She was rewarded with them after competing. On command she would flip into "Place", heel backwards, forwards, inside circle, outside circle...almost like a dance. She did like to dance as well. She could pirouette on her hind feet in either direction.

Paige enjoyed service work as well and visited elderly family members recuperating in skilled nursing facilities. She calmly enjoyed their presence and attention. She not only brought joy to the dear patients, but also to the staff members working at the facility.

Not all of Paige's talents were trained. She could mimic sounds: A blackbird whistle, kitty mew, baboon call, timber wolf howl, a 6-week old puppy's cry and many more. Not on cue, just spontaneously when she wanted attention.

Paige enriched our home and our lives. We will always be grateful for the time we had with her.

Although she won many awards and titles, it was the JOURNEY with her that was the reward. Love to Paige, who blessed us every day with her life December 8, 2002 to February 1, 2010.
