Harvey was diagnosed Nov. of 2008 with cancer. He had surgery with the hopes that all of it would be removed. However, with the nature of this type of cancer, the surgery did not remove all of it. After two major surgeries, I decided to pursue radiation therapy for him at WSU in May 2009. He also underwent chemotherapy to hopefully slow the tumour growth. Harvey went through a lot, but he was a trooper through it all. He was still spry and enjoyed life. I am so grateful that I was able to spend some quality time with him in the summer,which was possible because he had received the radiation treatment. Without it, he would have died much earlier in the year. I am thankful for the doctors and the students who took great care of him at WSU. Harvey was my best friend and all those who met him would know exactly why. His demeanor was what made him unique. I will always have a special place in my heart for him and for the people who took care of him.
