Toby’s favorite toy was a little white ball that went in a circle when he swatted it with his forepaw. Whenever Roberta & I were home together, he was insistent that we sit together by his toy. If one of us weren’t compliant & happened to be reading on the couch, Toby would sit & stare until we relented. Then he would walk in a circle around us, sit down, & play could begin. He was also fond of coming up to me while I was working on the computer, rise on his hind legs & tap me on the arm. This would sometimes put me on the ceiling, but I sure miss it now. He was the soul of our household & will always be loved.
We had Toby all of his 14 years. Every day was a joy. He was happiest when he, John and I were all together, particularly, when he was the center of attention. If he was in his favorite place (John’s lap) and I was sitting next to them he would stretch his paw out to touch me too. He would wake me up in the mornings by lying next to me and purring loudly. I miss his softness, his warmth, his regal personality, and his blue, blue eyes. He was all heart, I will forever hold him in mine.
