Here is our story: In August 2004, speaking with a Golden Retriever rescue group in Spokane we were told that a family near us had two 3 year old male Golden’s that they could no longer care for. We went to see them and came home with them. One of the two was so big and gentle we decided to call him gentle “Ben” and then when trying to think of a name for his brother, we decided the pair had to be “Ben and Jerry”!! What a pair! It is said that Golden’s live to love and that was certainly true of Ben. We now have only Jerry to keep us company and what is amazing is the way he is not only himself, but often we are certain Ben’s spirit appears in Jerry … that makes for some very poignant moments.

Thank you for memorializing our Ben … we miss him very much … not a day goes by that we don’t think and talk about him.
