Nala

A donation was made in memory of Nala by Dr. Robert Katz and Dr. Raul Ortiz-Umpierre at Stuart Animal Hospital on Apr 02, 2019.

In August 2015 she was the “dog of the week,” and I wondered why anyone would get rid of an 11-year old dog. Her photo in the newspaper touched me, and we brought her home from the shelter to join our pack. In the 3-1/2 years she was with us, the joy she brought us was well worth her barkiness. ❤️She was, by far, the sweetest, most tolerant and happy dog I have ever had the privilege of knowing. In January 2019, she was diagnosed with mammary cancer, which had already spread to one of her lungs (even though there was no trace of the disease in September when she had her previous checkup). Why? Because she wasn’t spayed until we adopted her at age 11. If you take nothing else away from this post, please pass along how important it is to spay your female dogs early in life. Right after the vet left our house on February 20, 2019, we saw Nala’s rainbow bridge. RIP my precious girl. You were well loved and are missed every day. ❤️
