Penny had a rough first 4 or 5 years. She lived with an elderly couple and had severe allergies but the couple both had dementia and didn't recognize it. I rescued her in 2009 and it was a year before her diet and medication were able to relieve her of some of her issues. Great companion but never bonded with anyone but me.
