Maverick came to me as a gift shortly after my 19-year-old brother died in a car accident. He was a Miniature Pinscher puppy and weighed just a couple pounds when I got him. He was so loyal and attentive as I grieved, always knowing when to curl up on my lap. He was also a feisty puppy, pulling on his leash and barking at the big dogs. He mellowed out with time and training giving us love and companionship for 17 wonderful years. He became a big brother to a Doberman Pinscher and two human siblings! He watched over us all and was always looking for a lap and a blanket to cuddle in. When our kids were babies, he would lay by their cribs in the morning waiting for them to wake up, always on guard for a knock at the door or another dog to walk by. He loved small squeaky toys that he would carry around the house, never chewing them up. He also loved camping and car rides. His memory will live on as he was such a huge part of our lives for so long. He's very missed and always loved.
