A donation was made in memory of Holly on
Oct 30, 2015.
Holly was the best friend I ever had. She was 15 and a half when she passed away on August 22, 2015. I brought her home from a farm when she was 6 months old and she spent the first week under my couch, afraid to come out. We lived together and looked out for each other every day, just the two of us. We moved from Seattle to New York City together, to a brownstone in Brooklyn that accepted dogs. A lot of people said I shouldn't bring her, but it was the best decision I ever made. You can always make things work when you have your dog who loves you.
We moved back to Seattle after a year, hiking in the mountains, ordering pizza for a fun night at home, and taking road trips to Cannon Beach every year. She made me walk every day so we could play frisbee (her job). She made me a better person by getting me outside to be social with my neighbors. Every night she went to bed at 10 p.m. and actually said goodnight by coming over to nudge me on the leg before going to her bed.
She was polite and sweet to everyone and never growled in her life, except once to defend me from three carjackers in a dark parking lot in Montana. The last two years she got sick and it was hard, but she reminded us every day how to be positive and patient and enjoy everything you have. I wish I could thank her for everything she did for me. I miss her every day. Thank you, Washington State University and Greenlake Animal Hospital for helping our friends.
