My soul dog my Comet. Our lives started together in September of 2010. I went to Petco
looking to adopt a puppy. There he was. This tiny little blonde pup who when I was put in
a room to meet with him immediately came to me and laid his toy at my feet. It was love at
first site and I brought him home. A few weeks later Comet and I went to find him a brother
and a local rescue was having an adoption event at a local farm. Comet and I chose his brother
Sway and it was a match made in heaven. We then added another family member our beautiful Australian Shepard and we were such a happy family. They all had their moments but loved each other. Comet
was very smart and he was incredibly loving and very attached to us. He worried when we left the
house and paced until we came back home. Both his brothers have both passed and Comet now had to learn how to be without his brothers and he did eventually become friendly with some neighborhood dogs. Comet loved his car rides and he most enjoyed his walks in the evening with his new dog friends. He became very attached to my neighbor's dog Lilly. You can see how happy he was when he saw her. He and I had a bond like no other. He recently became
ill with cancer in august. We had a tumor removed but the doctors were unable to get it all. The cancer
did come back after a few months. His body started to break down. We tried holistic chinese herbs and he soon had to be
put on steroids. He fought his battle and I fought it with him. No matter what he needed he got it. He got weak and still took
him on his walks so he could be with his favs... I put him in a wagon and pulled him around the neighborhood. He never missed his special time with his friends. Until he just became too weak and he was in pain and the time came we had to say goodbye. He was the most incredible animal and I have to say sometimes he seemed as if he thought he was a human. There will never be another to ever compare to my soul dog. His memory will forever live on in my heart.
