Chia

A donation was made in memory of Chia by Drs. White, Remsburg, Martzall, Larson and staff at Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic on May 06, 2019.

In 2011 I brought a spunky year and a half old boxer into our lives who liked to jump beside you like a rabbit to be able to look into your face. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Chia was the perfect addition to our family and instantly bonded with our 6 month old boxer Micha. She was the biggest cuddle bug who just wanted to stare into your eyes and dog pile on Micha. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime for Micha.

About two years ago I came home to my baby girl Chia walking wobbly in the back end. A trip to the vet discovered that she was suffering from the beginning stages of Degenerative Myelopathy. It was hard watching as she slowly lost the ability to walk with her hind legs due to her spinal cord deteriorating as time has gone on. The whole time she never lost her happy boxer personality through laser treatments, neurologist appointments, multiple medications, wheelchair tryouts and being carried up stairs and over slippery floors.

I had to make one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make and that was saying goodbye to my baby girl Chia. DM took her movement and body away but it never took her loving and happy personality. It pains me to know that her and Micha are now separated. We will miss you always and love you forever. I hope that you are running and jumping around in heaven right now free of DM
