Amani the gentle giant: Amani in Swahili means "harmony" or "peace"; and in native American it means "Speak the Truth". Amani, an Alaskan Malamute wolf hybrid, was born November 9th 2005, and passed away due to bone cancer on April 6th 2011 after a six and one half month battle with the disease. His size and fast growth surprised us. He weighted 155 pounds.
Amani was a loving and beautiful individual whose father was Jakona and his mother, Kiau, was born of wild Alaskan wolves. Amani was 91% wolf.
His temperament was such that he was the greeter in our family, friendly to all, especially the grandchildren.
We are blessed to have Amani come into our lives with the gift of his spirit and courage, the courage with which he quietly bore his pain. He has left a huge void in our lives and he is greatly missed--Amani, we love you and thank you for being part of our family--and Nero's buddy.
Thank you to WSU Animal Clinic for being there, and to Deer Park Animal Clinic.
