Abby was picked up in a field in Idaho and after no luck being adopted she was transferred to Goldendale, Wa. We met Abby as a soon to be engaged couple and took her home the day we saw her. Though timid and quiet, we strived to give her the best home possible. Abby was a wonderful companion to my wife and I and we discovered after the birth of our daughter that she would be a best friend to our little girl. The love my daughter and Abby shared has inspired my daughter to want to be veterinarian someday so she can help animals just like Abby. She was a quirky dog who squeaked instead of barked, waited for the last person to be home to howl and had a voracious appetite for freshly baked bread off the counter top. We've never known our home without our beloved Abby and though two months have passed since she left us her presence is missed daily. We'll learn to love other dogs and come to mourn their passing in time but there will always be a space in our heart left by the absence of our hound.
