While working in Ronan, MT, on a landscape project, I checked into the motel and saw this cute black puppy hanging around the front door. I gave him some pets and headed to my room. The days dragged on and night after night the little puppy would hang around my door, as we fed him pizza crusts and other treats. On the Friday of that week, a huge downpour of rain came. I told the guys to pack it up and quit early. When I came back to the motel, I found the little soaking wet puppy at my door again. How could I just leave this dog at the reservation? He needed me! I took him home and my wife was not pleased with the little fluffy surprise, cradled in my arms. As Chief got older he became my wife's walking buddy, my daughter and son's special pet [living to an amazing 16 years] and my best friend! I didn't just choose Chief, he chose me, and I will never forget that little fluffy dog that changed my life forever.
