My husband and I adopted our guinea pigs Dexter (and his brother Smalls) in Seattle. Dexter had a heart of gold; He was small with a big personality, he loved to cuddle, gave us gentle little piggy kisses, and made us laugh when he "pop corned" and zoomed around his cage. If he heard the crinkling of a plastic bag or the fridge door opening, he made sure you knew he wanted some of his favorite veggies! Our fondest memories of him were weekend mornings, spent snuggled up together. Upon moving to Pullman, he got to experience the feeling of real grass under his paws, something my husband had always wanted for our piggies. Our time with Dexter was brief, and we wish so badly we could have spent a few more years with him, but the time we shared filled our hearts with love and warmth. We couldn’t have asked for a sweeter little guy to join our family. Thank you to Dr. Logsdon, Dr. Finch and the VTH students for taking such good care of our Dexter pig. He will be so deeply missed, but in our hearts forever. We love you, Dexter!
