Dewey

A donation was made in memory of Dewey by the Doctors and Staff at Desert Veterinary Clinic on Apr 03, 2018.

Dewey was a maltese, born in a group of three boys (Huey, Dewey, and Louis) named after the famous cartoon ducks and we were lucky enough to get Dewey around age 1. We had just moved into our first rental home together and, along with our guinea pig Brutus, he made our family feel complete. He was a goofball who loved to play, cuddle, and wouldn't harm a fly. He got along with everyone and was our little protector/fur baby. After we moved into our first home we purchased and Brutus sadly passed away, you could see how sad he was to lose his friend. When we became pregnant with twins, he would cuddle with my baby bump- as if he knew future friends were on the way. He was so gentle with our premie babies and continued to be through his nearly 7 years of life. Around age 5 1/2 we started noticing some changes in his health and with the great help of Desert Vet Clinic in Richland (Dr. Thome) and WSU Vet School we were able to figure out he had Cushings disease and give him the best last year we could. You would be hard pressed to find a sweeter little maltese and we are so thankful we got to call him our family. Thank you to Dr. Thome, Desert Vet and WSU.
