For 17 amazing years, I was blessed with the gift of Whidbey, a mixed breed terrior I adopted from the oldest animal shelter in America, the Morris Shelter. She lived a well-loved life in Seattle WA often enjoying great hikes, beach runs and salmon dinners. Her presence in my life was a gift much greater than anything I could have imagined. She taught me how to be a better human and she blessed me with unconditional love. She was incredibly strong in spirit and will and I have promised her that I will do my best to honor that as I go forward.
Her love of chasing tennis balls, birds and especially squirrels will always make me smile. If there is a heaven, I know she is there. I miss her so and I am full of deep gratitude for having experienced life with a dog in my heart.
