After having lost a Doxie a few months previous, we found Kirby in Doris, California 15 years ago. She quickly became a huge part of our family. Two years after we got Kirby she rode with me to Spokane where we picked up her new sister, Winnie. Winnie cuddled in my lap as we drove back home. Kirby sat in the passenger seat and looked away from me the entire 3 hour trip home only occasionally sneaking a peek (out of the corner of her eye) at the intruder laying in my lap- she was so mad at me! Kirby and Winnie became great sisters. They were both equally unhappy when we added a third girl, Bea, just 6 years ago. Kirby loved her dad and was at my husband, Gary's side always. She loved going for car rides- especially to the bank for a treat, she loved going to the ocean to run and chase the birds. And of course, she was exceptional at barking! Kirby was a very proud Dachshund. She will forever be one of our girls. We miss her everyday.
