Beloved Snowflake... It was Christmas 2013 (17 degrees), I was on my way to the gym when I saw a white cat pull something to the middle of the road and run off. I stopped my car and looked to see what it was, it was a tiny kitten that was frozen and unresponsive. I quickly picked her up and drove to the vet office, they were closed. So we sat in the car thinking of plan B with the heater running and I was stroking her and talking with her, praying she would survive. I decided to take her to a neighboring town where they had emergency vet care. For the next several days they tried to get her body temp up and fluids going, eventually they were successful and she would be put up for adoption. I was happy!!! BUT I soon realized I had already bonded with her and she needed to be with our family (I had 3 other rescue kitties at home). It was an adjustment for Snowflake and the other kitties at first but she was always by my side since she was somewhat feral and didn't trust anyone else. We had 5 beautiful years, she was my best friend and helped me through difficult times. This past year she struggled with dehydration and eating, I took her to the vet several times and they would get her back to spirits but on December 24th 2018 she took a quick turn for the worse, by the 25th she couldn't walk and was very withdrawn. Christmas afternoon we took her once again to the emergency care (exactly 5 years later from the day we found her), after several tests they informed me her kidneys were not working and there wasn't much they could do, I was heartbroken. We made the difficult decision to lay her to rest. I am still devastated, her memories consume me. I will forever love you Snowflake and hope to see you again someday. Rest in peace my sweet angel!!!
