Robbie was our precious Border Terrier, who spent almost seven years adding joy and fun to our lives. He would mine his toy box for his favorite, a used tennis ball, that he would toss and chase without any help from us. He was happiest when we were both where he could see us, and he would spend hours waiting at the door for the one who was "missing." Border Terriers are known as Little Brown Dogs to their breeders, as they are nondescript looking and noncontroversial in their personalities. But he was anything but nondescript to us. Robbie died of a traumatic injury to his spine, possibly due to falling off a deck. We hope his story will serve to warn others of that danger.
