Sherrah
A donation was made in memory of Sherrah on Nov 22, 2011.
Sherrah Floten lost her battle to live on October 21, 2011, at 9:45 a.m., at the age of 18.
An insanely amazing feline, Sherrah brightened any room she was in and was always the center of attention. Everyone knew she was the queen; "She Who Must Be Obeyed." Yet, beneath her regal exterior was a good-natured girl, who met everyone with a sweet "mew." We marveled at her ability to express herself with so many different vocalizations. That’s why we named her Sherrah, which means “Singing Lady.” We always knew where she stood and where we stood with her! She had an opinion about everything -- and always the last word.
Wherever we were, there she was looking for a lap, a cuddle, and a good word. Whenever we called her, she always came running with a purr. She never bore a grudge, even when we would leave for a few days. She met us when the door opened and let us know she was happy we were back.
I loved to whisper in her ear, between kisses on her forehead, just how much I adored her. She would gaze at my eyes and purr so hard you could hear her in the next town. Bill would sit on the couch every morning and Sherrah would hop up, crawl into his arms, and purr with her eyes at half-mast, letting everyone know that everything was right in her world.
She was a gift, a treasure, our exquisite joy. How we loved her......
Our only comfort in grieving her loss is knowing that she led a good life with humans who loved her beyond measure and furry companions who respected her. Our house was full of tasty treats, toys, chin-scratches, play, and full-body hugs.
We have included our favorite picture of her, in all her splendor at age four. What a beauty queen! Fast as the wind, wild as the tundra, and gentle as a summer day....our Sherrah.
We miss her profoundly; our home is so lonely without her. She has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Rest in peace, beloved Sherrah.
With loving memories,
Bill and Jean F.
