Smokey Bobcat

A donation was made in memory of Smokey Bobcat by Doctors and Staff of the Elliott Bay Animal Hospital on Dec 03, 2009.

Smokey Bobcat and I met for the first time when he climbed through a window at a home office I was working in, for a family that owned him at the time. He was called Bob during this period, being short for Bobcat, and he was about 3 years old. A long story, involving several members of this family having owned him at one time or another. Eventually Bobcat came to live with me at the age of approximately 4 years and his name became Smokey Bobcat. Smokey was a unique cat in his essence and beingness.. I had never owned a cat in my life and he quickly brought me up to speed in what was expected on my part. Smokey was a special needs cat in that he had chronic health problems from the beginning, requiring frequent veterinary care visits along with consistent caretaking on my part in. Amazing that he chose to live as long as he did. Smokey died of brain cancer on September 21, 2009. He would have turned 18 years in January 2010. I am so lucky to have been his mom during these many years. I feel raising Smokey was a priviledge in my life. Though the challenges were many and often quite stressful, the teachings from Mr Smokey were huge. I am so thankful for the veterinary care Smokey received. Smokey Bobcat, you are missed more than alot. Your presence in my heart will remain forever.

Linda D.
