Lost our beloved dog Chloe after 12.5 of best years and times in our lives.

We got her from a young couple in Tacoma, WA in 2010 who crossbred a female lab and male boxer. She was the one puppy that wagged her tail at us. It wasn't until later that I realized Chloe was a clear manifestation of my life-long desires to have a dog just like she was.

It took me quite some time to realize who Chloe was and what she was trying to say. Once I understood her "speak" we connected mentally and became inseparable. Leash was not needed, she carried things on command, stayed within parameters, waited, guarded property and took many other useful tasks. She trusted me and followed my commands believing I had our best interest in mind. I in turn was careful never to impose upon that trust. It was an exceptional relationship.

She loved music, flute, harmonica sounds, Mazzy Star, whale and bird songs among her favorites. We cooked food for her, built cars specially for our road trips, made up games and challenges for her development.

We went everywhere with this dog. Lakes, rivers, ocean beaches, mountain trails, road trips and city hikes. She embodied the spirit of the Pacific Northwest. I took her with me to work for many years. I stopped visiting places where Chloe being a dog, wasn't welcome.

There was never a dull moment with Chloe due to her silly, joyful personality. She was never depressed and never declined to go places all the way to the bitter end.

In her last year we treated her successfully for Melanoma and slowed down her AGASACA but in the end we had to let her go, she was in pain, losing control of her legs and basic functions. Saddest moments in our lives.

My wife, sister and I will forever miss this crazy and beautiful creature.

I wake up every morning in gratitude that we were gifted with 12.5 years of this cosmic bliss in our lives.
