Jax

A donation was made in memory of Jax by Drs. Molton, Batdorf, Stidham, Hamack and Meyer at Vista Veterinary Hospital on Oct 04, 2017.

Jax was a very special dog. He spent the first five years of his life as a racing greyhound in the Southern US, descending from one of the most famous greyhounds in racing history. When he retired, he traveled across the country with the Greyhound Pets Inc. adoption group to Seattle, which is where I found him. For the next 2 years, we had lots of adventures, and I tried to give Jax a peaceful retirement. He loved to eat human food, sleep, and cuddle with his grandma, and he was so brave when his medical conditions flared up. Even though he was in so much pain, he hardly ever cried. We thought he was finally free from his toenail condition when he was diagnosed with bone cancer at 7 years old, and it had spread too much when we'd found it. I think about Jax every day, and I talk to him every time I see a rainbow in the sky. There will be a day when we'll all be reunited, but until then, I'll remember him with fond memories.
