K.C.

K.C. was our third golden retriever in 36 years and came to us at approximately 7 months old from Golden Retriever Rescue in Spokane, Washington. He was rescued from a puppy mill and from the moment he jumped out of his foster mom's car it was love at first sight. What a joy our big boy was - he loved being with the family and brought more joy and comfort than words can express. He loved presents, his or anyone else's, and opened gifts with vigor. Sometimes he got under the tree and found his gifts and tried to open early.

We had him for almost 12 years. When he became ill we went to WSU Vet Hospital and they did their best but it was not to be and we had to send him on to the Rainbow Bridge. I can only hope he met up with Sybil and Kelli, our two other goldens, and they are running together waiting for us.

There were so many special things about K.C. that I could fill a book. He was always happy to see us and enjoyed checking bags for new toys when we came home from a shopping trip, and boy did he get toys! We couldn't help but spoil him and he never chewed anything up so you can imagine we had a lot of gifts to share with our local rescue team here. He has been gone for three months and my heart still aches when I look for him to greet us when we get home. We see him everywhere. I know he came into our life for a reason and hopefully we in his. He was beautiful and tolerated our three rescue cats very well. He enjoyed spaghetti, cooked or not, and waited for a piece of popcorn to drop only to scoop it up before it hit the ground. The team at WSU was so kind and we know they took good care of our big boy when we couldn't be with him. We have so many pictures of him, whether it is rooting in the snow, taking naps with a family member, or sitting on his bed in front of the fireplace. We will miss you "doodie" and will always remember you.
