Rosie
It’s been almost a month now since we had to help you cross the Rainbow Bridge. Your first year and a half and your last year and a half on this earth held their challenges for you, my angel. I wish we could have been there for the first year and a half to try to protect you from the trauma you endured. It was my honor, my privilege and my complete pleasure to be your main care giver for your last year and a half. The twelve years in between were heaven on earth – so joyous, happy and loving. You were the sweetest, funniest, cutest pup I could imagine. I’ll never forget the joy on your face when you saw that we bought you your very own bed. If we brought you a fraction of the happiness you brought us, then we did a great job.
How is it possible that we were so lucky to meet you and have you choose us at the same time we chose you? How is it possible that you could be such a good girl with so much love to give after having been betrayed by some human along the way? I thank your foster mom for keeping you safe until we found you. How is it possible that we found the strength to let you go? How is possible that I was still breathing and my heart was still beating after you’d gone?
As the weeks go by, the pain is still profound, but my mind is beginning to be filled with all the amazing memories we had with you. A piece of my heart went with you, my sweet Boo Paw, but I will hold you in my memory forever and my love for you is unending. I’d do it all again in a second, Rose.

Royln and Fred H.
