Miko was our labrador retriever for almost 15 years. She brought joy and happiness every day. Now that joy is replaced with sorrow. She was a friend, companion, protector and occasionally a pain in the a@!! But we loved her!!She being an indoor dog, greeted us every morning and was at the door to welcome us home at night. She played, hiked, swam, chased balls and gave kisses to us and our kids as they grew up. She endured the family cat and learned to take a wide birth to avoid getting her nose scratched. She was our protector--she laid beside or on top of our bed snoring away but with one ear alert and ready. Everyone loved her and we loved her back. In later years she fought arthritis, thyroid cancer, liver cancer and old age. But she continued to enjoy life to its fullest. She took walks and chased the neighbor cats, or wild squirrels up to the end. She left this world on December 24th 2011 right as the christmas celebration was to begin. We will never forget the care she recieved at the Chuckanut Valley Vet, it was awsome. People ask us when we'll get another dog, I don't think there will be another dog like Miko. We all miss you Miko.
