Niyah

A donation was made in memory of Niyah by everyone at the Pet Emergency Center on Oct 02, 2019.

She was found in Idaho, lost, terrified and very pregnant. She was taken to a shelter, but because they were at maximum capacity she was transported to the Alternative Humane Society in Bellingham, and was fostered by some wonderful clients of the veterinary hospital I worked in. It was my day to perform surgeries when Niyah came in for her spay. All 9 of her puppies had found homes already, but she wasn't spoken for...until I spoke for her. We had 5 wonderful years with her, where she went from a terrified, skittish dog to a loving, adventurous, and grateful dog throughout those years. Unfortunately she developed pancreatic cancer and lost her short battle a few weeks ago. We are heartbroken, but walking the path of grieving to healing. Thank you to my kind coworkers at the Pet Emergency Center for contributing to this memorial in Niyah's name. It means the world to us, and since I'm also grateful that my career was born from the wonderful College of Veterinary Medicine, I can't think of a better recipient of the donation. Thank you to the Pet Emergency Center, to WSU and to our beloved dog Niyah for loving us and making us smile.
