Rufus was our gorgeous chocolate lab who came to us on New Year's Day 2010. We were so lucky to have him all the way until March 2024. He was a wonderful dog in every way. The sweetest personality - I don't think he ever met a dog or a person he didn't like. He loved to go for walks and to go swimming in the lake. But he was also happy just hanging out in the sun watching us work in the yard. He loved a good puppuccino with his friend Bo. Our dear friend Tom and Zoie introduced him to chicken meatballs which he also loved. It took him a long time to settle into adulthood - he used to attack feet under the dining room table until he was four! But then he mellowed out and had an almost noble air, strolling through life without a care. Losing him was so hard. But thanks to some amazing veterinary care from a WSU grad, we got seven happy bonus months, and we celebrated every day. His 14th birthday party was well-attended and memorable. Rufus we will love you always.
