Atticus was one of the most laid back dogs I ever knew. When we met him at a pet store adoption event, we were concerned he might be ill - turns out he was healthy, he just didn't get into all the whining and barking that other dogs did. Atticus was a great companion, always at my feet or by my side. He loved a long car ride to the beach, where he'd stroll along the shore, and he loved a long slow walk around the neighborhood, stopping to sniff every few steps. He did great when a new baby joined his most loved household member status, and stayed sweet and loving to our daughter for the last four years. On his last day, he perked up as he took a last slow stroll through the neighborhood to chase three deer that came bounding across his path. He even got to enjoy a bit of Halloween candy - mmm, chocolate! We will miss him very much. May he rest in peace.
