On August 31, 2000 I had to let my beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever "Morgan" pass on. I spent that entire day by his side treating him to all the things he loved. I also asked him several times to send me a sign from the other side, just something small to let me know he had passed on and was OK. The next morning as I fought back my tears I gazed down into my garden from my front window. And there sat a small black and white cat. The first thing I noticed was his eyes. One eye was beautiful green and the other bright blue. I looked to the heavens and said "Morgan, I said send me a sign NOT A CAT!!! And that was the beginning of my loving relationship with Merlin. MY GIFT FROM MORGAN. He was starving and had been neglected and abused. It took me 5 weeks until he finally allowed me to touch him. We shared our lives for the next 12 years, 2 months, and 8 days. Unfortunately, on June 16, 2008, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma and given about 2 months to live. He surprised us all and stayed with us for another 4 years and 4 1/2 months. I praise the Veterinary Staff at Sacajawea Health Care for Pets for all their loving care and concern for Merlin and for me. Especially to Dr. Morlan who called Merlin "OUR LITTLE MIRACLE CAT". She guided me through a very traumatic time having to say good-bye to my loving friend and make the decision to let him pass on. Diane E.
