Dear Dollar,

You were the smartest horse I have ever known. Everyone loved and trusted you. A beautiful, big round bay with a crooked white blaze, you would walk out proud and confident, wherever we went... We'd ride all over the home ranch. Remember the time I lost my flip-cell phone or the time we quietly moved the cows through the Big Spring gate and friends watched in awe of your stealth & confidence. You were my soul mate in horse form. You always had a spring in your step if something needed to be done or we just wanted to get to the top of the hill, first! If a cow tried to get away you'd flank him like an expert. Those little black calves always thought you were their mom and you did buck when they got you into trouble with the rope, thanks for keeping your head about you when I was on you. I want to thank you for taking girl friends all around the pastures, watching your step and keeping them centered, they loved you. Up to the PN, all over the Missouri Breaks, we'd ride and Charlie would always say, "Dollar will always bring you home safely." Thank you. We'd jump huge cottonwood trees, like a pro, along the Judith River. We would skip and gallop like we had done it all before, in another time or place. Now, you'll meet Mannix, who jumped me all the way to NY state champ. he was kind and loving as well, hope you two have fun until I see you again. I love you Dollar and am a little jealous of the angels you'll fly with now. Come get me when it's my time to go home. I miss you.

Love and honor, Bale
