Teagan was picked up by the Hawaiian Humane Society in the wilds of leeward Oahu, and cost $10 (Memorial Day Special) to bail her out of jail! Our vet checked her out, estimated she was about 1-1/2 years old, treated her for various infections and worms, shaved her entire body, determined she had been abused and that was probably why she was abandoned, and then he charged $1500 that day. Of all our purebred dogs, only our Irish Wolfhound had ever cost that much in one visit! Our $10 'diamond in the ruff'!!!

But given time, lots of love and pampering, she learned to trust us, got along well with our wolfhound, and was soon able to mind-meld with me at any time during the 12 years she graced us with joy and daily smiles.
