Riley was brought in to the family at approximately 4 months in age. We never confirmed but thought he was a mix of golden retriever and tasmanian devil. He was an absolute bundle of joy and he played with our other dog Murphy in the backyard. Riley learned a lot from Murphy and was growing in to a mature well behaved dog. After 1 year Riley began to have small head movements-after 1 1/2 years Riley had his first grand mal seizure. Riley continued to have seizures and we finally had to induce medications to control them. The seizures began to become more frequent as Riley was breaking through the medications. For 3 years my wife and I administered the care to keep the life of our Riley as best as we possibly could. We consulted many times about his quality of life and after not standing up for 3 days due to dosage issues, seizures and weight issues(side effects of the medications) we had come to a realization, one that no one ever wants to.
We hope this donation by my wife's parents can be used to help find the miracle drug to cure epilepsy.
