RIVER
He was our Golden Retriever fur-child. He was River.
He gave us unconditional love and he received it in return. He was River.
He gave us years of happiness. He chased squirrels, and once he chased a bear
He greeted us with a smile - an actual smile. He was River.
He never met a person he didn’t like, even those he should have.
He made each person feel like his best friend.
He was gentle with his toys, but he loved to tear up cardboard boxes. He was River.
He barked at other dogs on TV. He ran after tennis balls but disliked returning them.
He was trusting and innocent. He connected with us completely. He was an integral part of our Lives and there is an empty place that he used to fill. He was River.
We miss him so very much more than we ever thought possible.
But we know that his spirit will stay with us forever.
He can never be replaced.
He is River.
