Spice

Your AKC name was "Cedarsprings Sugar and Spice", "Spice" for short. Your father was "CH Ravenswood EFB Brisco". At a little over 1 year old, you came with lots of unfamiliar Jack Russell traits that I grew to love dearly over the next 15 years. A smooth coated black and white spotted 16 lb terrier, you adapted from kennel to city life with abundant help from treats, praise and a routine.

You preferred your feet on the ground. I blame the C-section that you had before I adopted you for your car sickness.

In obedience class, you learned many tricks including "salute". Your spirit sulked when learning "down" and "down stay".

You dispatched voles, rats and squirrels with a ferocity.

As you got older, your hearing and sight diminished. Our walks would start with a long pause on the front porch to inhale. You accepted my help getting up and down from high places. You became a very sound sleeper.

I love you sweet Spice girl. Thanks for everything.
