A'hn Ly

A donation was made in memory of A'hn Ly by Drs. Whereat and Donovan at Northwest Veterinary Hospital on Dec 15, 2016.

Simbaby's A'hn Ly of Lalima is a big name for a tiny cat but our A'hn Ly had the heart of a lion. In fact, her name means lion in Vietnamese. She was born in Paris, France, and shown in many FiFa competitions there. She soon won her GC and began her career as a breeding cat. After 4 litters and 3 Grand Champion kittens she received her Distinguished Merit. She was the only Abyssinian to hold that title in all of Europe for 5 years. After her last litter, she was spayed and ready to begin her best career - that of being a companion to adoring humans. We purchased a red male Abyssinian from her last litter but when A'hn Ly's intended new home fell through we were asked to take her. At first we demurred since we hadn't thought of two cats but we decided to take her in. She and her son, Jazz, were flown from Paris to Southern California where we picked her them up and brought them to Seattle. Here she lived for 6 years before she became ill and we lost her. A'hn Ly was the kindest, gentlest, and bravest kitty we have ever owned or even known. Both she and her son were indoor cats but I did take them out on leashes nearly every day for sun and a bite of grass. In addition, they both came with us on our annual boat journeys to B.C. and Puget Sound every summer. A'hn Ly maintained her post by the co-pilots chair and enjoyed taking the dinghy ride to shore if we were anchored out. We loved this lady so much and are so happy she came to us if only for a short 6 years. She improved her breed and everyone's life she came in contact with. We miss her so much and find ourselves hugging Jazz and little tighter every day. These companions bring so much love and joy into our lives. Godspeed, A'hn Ly.
