Tucker

Dear Tucker,
Our house and home just aren't the same without you. You were our golden spirit for 12-1/2 years. When we first saw you we loved your playful spirit. You were active and so much fun. Your eyes twinkled and made us smile. Your birthday, Christmas Day, will forever be remembered as your special day. We knew you always thought everyone decorated trees and put pretty lights up just for you. Everyone was happy this time of year, especially you. You would smile from ear to ear. As the years passed, you slowed down a bit, but not your spirit. You had so much spirit and energy to spend and you loved to swim. Swimming was one of your favorites and some of our most favorite times in the summer were being able to play at the lake with you. You were the leader of our pack, but so gentle with newcomers too. You loved everyone. You, out of our seven golden retrievers, were the only dog that had met all of our other dogs, foster or our own. You had adapted to changes well and let others know you were our leader. We were blessed for 12-1/2 years to have you with us, but we will treasure you the rest of our lives as you will never leave our hearts and we will visit and remember you with smiles, tears and laughter. Run free dear friend, keep good care of all our family there at Rainbow Bridge. We will see you again and be able to hug you once again. As I sign off this evening, I remember as bedtime approached...you would wag your tail, climb each stair, and look at us every single night- as if to bid us a good sleep and we all would rest our souls until tomorrow would come. So nice to have the image of you as we drifted to sleep. Even though we have said goodnight for the last time, your face is the last thing I see before we go to sleep every night. We love you Tucker and miss you terribly, but do find comfort that you are free of all pain and illness and able to play and romp with friends again. Until we meet again dear Tucker...smile, wag that tail and welcome any newcomers to the Bridge. We know you'll be a great leader there as well. So I sign off now, I'm off to bed, and it's you I see as I lay my head down. Goodnight dear Tucker, you are loved more than you will ever know.
