Zoey
A donation was made in memory of Zoey by the doctors and staff on May 28, 2020.
Zoey and Beuford were two amazing dogs, made our lives feel whole and who we referred to as our ‘children’. We got both of them, oldest brother, youngest sister when they were just 3 months old. From day one, they did everything with us and had the most amazing personalities from their mix of chihuahua, terrier and shih tzu mix. Sibling rivalry for treats, they were easily able to learn multiple tricks very quickly, and kept us, family and friends entertained for hours. They were loyal, playful, enjoyed snuggles and warm blankets out of the dryer. They loved days spent chasing mice or lounging in the sun, or finding whatever they could get into on the property.
We were able to enjoy 14 wonderful years with Beuford, before we lost him to diabetes in October of 2016. He was a fighter and battled the disease for 7 years. A year prior to his passing, he had a back stroke and became paralyzed in his hind legs. With the help of an amazing vet, our dedication to giving him daily physical therapy, and his desire to continue, he was eventually able to begin walking again! His nick name, “Goofy Beufy”, spoke volumes to his personality. Whenever you sat on the couch, he was always the first one to jump up and join you making sure to have a paw or half his body sitting on your lap.
Zoey, as the ‘runt’ of the pack, always had something to prove and was a determined little girl. She earned herself the nickname of “Bozoey” for always being so silly. Whenever she was happy or excited we got the pleasure of hearing her howl in joy in her little doggy voice. She would also tell you she loved you in barking tones. She was strong and lived a very healthy life, although after her brother passed, as with most animals, she was lonely and missed him. We got to enjoy 18 years with Zoey before we lost her to declining health.
They were our best friends and children. Our hearts still hurt from missing them, but our minds remember all the great times we had with them. May they continue to play, sleep and enjoy God’s country together until we can be there to join them again.
