Dixie
December 22, 2002 – January 19, 2011

It’s hard to even begin to express the wonder, happiness and love that Dixie brought into our lives. This special girl loved to prance next to us during walks, making sure we noticed how she could have been a movie star. During the day she played with her brother, Teddy, but would always devote herself to the family as they came home from work. It just didn’t matter what kind of day we had because Dixie was there to be our confidant, support giver, nursemaid, or whatever was needed to make that day a special one for us. She frolicked at the beach, chased balls in the park and spent numerous vacations in the Sierra Nevada trail blazing and fishing. We love you Dixie and we know that you have a wonderful spot in Heaven. In fact, we will know we’ve been accepted to Heaven when we see your smiling face again.

We want to thank Dr. Kevin Choy and Heather Gardner of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University for the course of care chosen for Dixie. We were able to enjoy many more wonderful weeks with our loved one because of them. We never felt like we were ‘just’ another patient being sent home after being treated. Dr. Choy and Ms. Gardner were in constant communication with us checking in to see how things were progressing. Dixie’s favorite part of the visits to the hospital was being called ‘little one’ by Dr. Choy. Thank you for all you did for us.

A huge thank you to the Animal Clinic of Walla Walla for the wonderful care given to Dixie and the compassion shown to us. A hero in my book is Dr. Bret Smith who is one of the most extraordinary veterinarians I have ever met. Thank you Dr. Smith for being there for Dixie.

Ray G.
