Georgie was a sweet rescue dog that we adopted. There was a drug bust and when the cops showed up, they found a mama dog and four puppies. We got one of those puppies. She was traumatized, did not want to be held, was scared over almost everything. Almost 13 years later, she was a champion snuggler. She would sleep on my daughter’s bed and lie on the couch with her head in my lap. If I would hug my daughters, she would wiggle her way between our legs to make it a group hug. As she got older, she stopped coming to the door when I came home. Instead she’d stay on the couch and wag her tail and wait for me to come greet her. She was an amazing dog. We were lucky to have her and she was lucky to have found us.
